"The Roads to Intellectual Acumen and Martial Finesse are One and Ultimately the Same Path (文武一道)" can be found in History of Song - Selection and Appointment of Officials (《宋史·選舉志三》):
(宋欽宗): 文武一道也，今太學就緒，而武學幾廢，恐有遺才。
(Emperor Qinzong of Song): Indeed, the roads to intellectual acumen and martial finesse are one and the same path. Presently, the facilities of higher education are well established, yet the art of martial finesse is very much abandoned. Perhaps this may lead to unrecognized talented individuals in the recruitment of officials.(Intepreted by KS Vincent Poon)
Regardless of whether one chooses to pursue academic excellence or physical arts, one cultivates the same positive traits, such as honesty, integrity, empathy and passion. Hence, to belittle one and favour the other is provincial and ignorant. All roads lead to Rome.
