About
Without the past, there is no future.
Traditional Chinese culture is long lost. This site aims to preserve and pass on the forgotten wisdom of traditional Chinese culture through Chinese calligraphy and concise English translations...
What is Chinese Calligraphy?
Chinese Calligraphy (書法) literally means "method/law (法) of writing (書)". In Japanese, it is known as shodo (書道), which means "the path/way (道) of writing (書)". Both Japanese and Korean Calligraphy originated from Chinese Calligraphy.
Although a large part of Chinese Calligraphy focuses on scribing methods (法), the art places significant weight on the personal character and temperament (人品) of the calligrapher, as illustrated by renowned Tang Dynasty calligrapher Sun Guoting (孫過庭 AD 646–691)....
